Final Nike Blog!

The words I associate with Nike are expert, bold, and innovative. There have been some recent issues surrounding the company, but the pros outweigh the cons in my opinion. 

The company is a leader is athletic apparel and footwear. Everyone knows the name. Why? Because Nike does it right. Nike has what we want, and a great message to go along with their products.

Nike’s slogan, “Just Do It,” captures the nature of the company; it encourages everyone to follow their dreams and never give up. In the mission statement, Nike states the desire to inspire athletes, where everyone is an athlete. The brand is associated with confidence and being bold in whatever you do. Many professional athletes endorse Nike, further boosting the brand’s reputation.

Innovation is a reason I’d invest in the company. First, the two new Houses of Innovation (Shanghai and New York) seem like they will be very successful. Also, as a footwear leader, Nike constantly comes out with innovative sneakers. The designs and concepts simply can’t be beat. Generally, Nike products are loved by athletes. I would feel confident as a shareholder that my money would be put to good use. Sure, the company might have some low points, but in the long run, it is highly profitable. I don’t foresee a major change happening; customers are too loyal to stop shopping at Nike. 

I would work for Nike despite the rumors of a “boys’ club” culture. The company is a global success and is endorsed by several successful athletes. There is always something new happening; I think there would always be something to be excited about at work. Nike appears to genuinely care about customers. I’d think that most employees are also very passionate, making the work environment a desirable place to be. And, personally I’m a fan of Nike products. It’s hard to be disappointed with the great quality and designs.
